As the market and consumption was very volatile for Jaggery as its main economics depend upon sugarcane quality and taste.

But after failing in a number of projects, he rejected the failure and turned his attention to jaggery and its byproduct as he was born and raised in Maharashtra’s Satara district, which is well-known for its cooperative sugar industry and sugarcane producers’ belt.

Following a thorough customer survey, it was determined that the primary reasons why consumers were hesitant to choose jaggery as their preferred natural sweetener were the unclean product and the cumbersome size of the kg blocks.

In the early going, over 98 merchants outright refused to stock their goods, claiming that jaggery would never sell for such a high price. In the end, two store owners decided to keep the product with the proviso that they would return it if it didn’t sell. The products are eventually approved within four months and are sold in 100 stores annually.

Without the use of chemicals, Pawaak Foods introduced the first small-scale jaggery cube in India, but it wasn’t an easy task.

Since they weren’t utilizing sulfur, the jaggery had a dark color, and selling the unappealing dark product was difficult.

The Usp of Pawaak foods product:

  • The product is made with only natural ingredients without adding chemicals with all GMP principles followed. They pack their product in food grade pet jam so there is no contamination during storage.
  • Convenience – Uniform small sized cubes have addressed the biggest pain point especially of housewives of breaking big blocks of Jaggery. Also it lead to an increase consumption of Jaggery after meals since it is a natural digestive. Parents started encouraging their kids to eat Jaggery cubes instead of chocolates.
