Dhepewada: A Royal Traditional Home to Explore

From Dahanu to Punekar, The adventurous journey of Mr Nitin dhepe was quiet exciting  from engineer to entrepreneur.

The Dhepewada resort was founded on December 18, 2014, by Nitin Dhepe, a proud entrepreneur, in the historic city known as the Oxford of the East because of its advancements in education. The Dhepewada resort’s construction and decor were entirely inspired by historic Maratha architecture. When you stay there, you’ll be able to enjoy a century-old way of life that has been brought back into the modern era.

However, you never know where the trip will finish, and as they say, “A thought can change your mind.” When he was overseeing a building site one day, he began to notice that the old Wadas, who were our ancestors, were disappearing from the Pune area in large numbers. He began to analyze the old Wada style architect houses that were going to be demolished.

A Dahanukar boy Nitin dhepe  has set to still the show in hotel industry with his unique approach towards the tradition,

It wasn’t the dream that one day he would be running a traditional Wada cum resort  which will be only use as hotel with traditional approach.

A very passionate Nitin who completed his basic education in Dahanu and then civil engineering from Pune.

Some well know Wada in are:

  • Purandar Wada
  • Kadam Wada
  • Shaniwar Wada
  • Vishrambaug Wada

These Wadas have their own stories to tell how the joint families were living together generation and generation with its marvelous architect which should be more then century old and which has witness a great history on the regional and national level.

To build Wada in a colossal structure was not the aim to only provide shelter but also to influence life and make it memorable. It will give a distinct feel that how our generations were living under one roof which  was memorable itself to enrich this experience.

As Nitin somehow feel guilty to carrying the task of demolishing the old Wada structure to pave the way for new apartment’s, during his stint in Civil engineering profession.  Henceforth, this change the mind of him to preserve the tradition by building one such Wada cum Resort to travellers, foodie to experience this lavish but traditional hospitality.

We should thank Mr Nitin dhepe for his gloorios work and making historical presence to this newer generation . We always be grateful to you
